Susan D. Dorland, BSc, DVM
Growing up in rural Ontario instilled in Dr. Dorland affection, compassion and respect for the animal kingdom. She attended Guelph University where she earned her B.Sc in Agriculture before entering Ontario Veterinary College for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Upon graduation she practised in the Durham region and in 1994 became a full time associate at the Oshawa Animal Hospital.
Dr. Dorland is a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, South Durham Region Veterinary Association, Past President of the Ontario Veterinary College Alumni Association and the OVMA Continuing Education Conference Committee. Dr. Dorland is an avid horse lover. Along with her partner Ian she spends most of her spare time penning and trail riding her quarter horse, Chic.
Alison Sutton, DVM
Dr. Alison Sutton is an Oshawa native, growing up around and within the Oshawa Animal Hospital itself. She started out in the hospital as a co-op student in high school and worked her way through the ranks until it was time to go to university. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1999, and then practiced for two years in Toronto before returning to her roots here at the Oshawa Animal Hospital.
Dr. Sutton resides in Oshawa with her two young boys, her golden retriever, three cats and a red footed tortise. Needless to say, it is a busy, but happy house!
Dr. Sutton's interest in pocket pets and reptiles broadens the scope of veterinary medicine at our practice.
Lindsay Davis, DVM
Dr. Davis was born in northern Ontario and raised in the Niagara region. The loss of a beloved family pet motivated her to pursue veterinary medicine so she could help pets and families stay happy and healthy. She spent seven years at the University of Guelph and
the Ontario Veterinary College where she obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. During this time, she worked at several veterinary clinics, gaining practical experience and a gentle touch with sick and worried pets.
Dr. Davis has contributed to a variety of volunteer projects in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda including free spay / neuter clinics, tracking and radio-collaring lions and hyenas, and emergency care for a wild African elephant. She looks forward to her next opportunity to give back to this beautiful region of the world.
She presently resides in Ajax with a gaggle of pets including her two dogs Harley and Arizona, free-range bunnies Moose and Daisy, a pair of guinea pigs and a trio of degus.
Dr. Davis has an avid interest in 'pocket pet medicine' (e.g. rabbits, rodents, etc.) and feels all animals deserve high quality compassionate medicine regardless of size or species.
Chris Heagle, DVM
Dr. Heagle graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1989. She was raised on a dairy farm in southwestern Ontario and worked in a mixed animal practice early in her career. She now devotes her time to companion animal practice. Chris actively bred and showed French Bulldogs for several years and now shares her home with 5 retired French Bulldogs and a very old kitty!
Dr. Heagle joined our team in 2010 and brought not only her experience and expertise, but also her fun-loving positive attitude. When Dr. Heagle is not busy spending time at work she enjoys walking her dogs at her country home. She enjoys running and has recently completed her first half marathon, congrats Dr. Heagle!
Graham M. MacLeod, DVM
Dr. MacLeod was born and raised in Toronto where, at the young age of 13, began his career in the veterinary profession. Upon graduation from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, he practised in Scarborough for the next four years before establishing himself at the Oshawa Animal Hospital in 1973 and in 1982 became sole proprietor of the practice. He is currently Hospital Administrator of the Animal Emergency Clinic of Durham Region.
"I see pets as unpretentious intermediaries in establishing and maintaining strong bonds between human beings. I see their reward in respect for their dignity and recognition of the value of their life along with preventive health care, critical care when necessary and compassionate care in their golden years."
Holding membership in the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, College of Veterinarians of Ontario, South Durham Region Veterinary Association and has served as President of Durham A.M. Kiwanis and Lt. Governor Division 10 Kiwanis International. Graham resides in Oshawa with his wife Diane and their two dogs Kobi and Suki and cat Winky.

Kelly Jackson, RVT, CVDT
A 2000 graduate of Seneca College Veterinary Technician program, Kelly brings valuable experience learned on her first job at an emergency and referral clinic in Toronto. She has also earned her certification as a veterinary dental technician. At a young age exposure to animals steered her in a direction that would eventually lead her to a career in veterinary nursing. She shares her life with her husband Kyle, their turtle Toby thier 3 cats Caesar, Tweek, and Trouble, a 6 foot long Iguana named Bob and many fish. Kelly says, "she is happy to know that she works in a field that makes a positive difference in animals' lives!".
Dawn-Ann Maddigan, RVT, CCRP
Dawn-Ann has been working with dogs and cats through co-operative and volunteer programs for many years. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in Kingston and obtained her Registered Veterinary Technologist diploma in 1997. In 2007 she attended the University of Tennessee and obtained her certification as a Canine Rehabilitaion Practioner. Life is very busy for Dawn-Ann in her role as wife, mother of two boys and caretaker of two cats, "Rohan" and "Aslan" and her dog "Link" as well as being a caring and compassionate veterinary nurse on our healthcare team. She says, "I knew at a very early age that animals were my passion and to be able to care for them was my ultimate goal."
Robyn Lasitz, RVT
Robyn is a 2008 graduate of Northern College's Veterinary Technician program. She has always had a passion of caring for animals and is so happy she is able to make a difference in the lives of your pets. At a young age Robyn started working summers with horses at a children's equine camp, from there she found a job with the camps equine vet. With this experience and doing co-op in high school at a small animal practice she was very eager to become an RVT. Robyn shares a home with her fiancè John and their 2 dogs, 3 cats, numerous fish, and have thier 2 horses not too far away.
Kim Myers
Kim first started working in the veterinary field in high school and joined the hospital in 1990. "Working with animals has proven to be the most rewarding and fulfilling job", states Kim. "I consider myself very fortunate to be doing what I have always loved - caring for animals".
She shares her home with her husband Paul and her son Jack.
Lindsay Darnley
Lindsay has been working in the veterinary industry since 2000. She's been a veterinary nurse and a veterinary pharmaceutical sales rep. She completed her biotechnology degree in 2005. Lindsay was fortunate enough to discover her true life passion at age 4 when her dad brought home their first kitten. "Thomasena taught me love and resposibility at a young age but most of all what to cherish in life. Everyday I spend with animals is a great day, I am living proof if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life". Lindsay shares her house with 2 dogs "Charlie" and "Gus" and her newest feline companion "Gracie".
Megan Vaughan, RVT
Megan is a 2007 graduate of St. Lawrence college in the Veterinary Technology program. She joined our team in 2010 bringing with her a positive attitude and a love for animals. Her passion for animals started at a young age with horses. She enjoys horseback riding, soccer and spending time with her family and boyfriend Jesse. She shares her home with her dog Jag, her cats Suzie and Tilly, a rabbit Chester and numerous fish.

ChristineSkerratt Christine joined our team with the biggest smile and a loving heart for all animals big and small. Christine's passion for animals has been with her since she could walk, and now being in this profession she couldn't be happier. "Watching a dog walk out of the hospital feeling better makes my heart melt because I know it received good care." Christine spends her free time with her family and her 1 dog and 3 cats and also her loving boyfriend Jacob.
Catherine Janes
Catherine joined our team in 2008 after completing the Animal Care program at Sheridan College. It was there that she realized her niche in life was to provide and care for all animals big and small. There is a special place in her heart for animals of the fur free nature which includes her ball python "King Kamikazee". She also loves spending time with her boyfriend Sean and their tthree cats "Peewee" "Bowser" and their ol' gal "mandy".
Holly Sokol
Holly has been working with animals since she was 15 years old and has had dogs and pocket pets for her entire life. She started working at Oshawa Animal Hospital in 2006 as a part-time kennel staff. She came back to us as a full-time Veterinary Nurse Assistant in 2007 after attending Sheridan College for the Animal Care program. Holly currently has a 6 year old Golden Retriever named Maddison a Guinea Pig named Ellie, and lots of fish. She lives with her pets and fiancee in Oshawa and enjoys spending all of her free time with them.
Jenn Michaud
From an early age, Jenn's exposure to animals has given her a great appreciation and love for natures furry animals big and small. After staying home with her children Jenn was delighted to join the team, and excited about having a job that gives her as much enjoyment as her home life does. With her husband, two daughters, two chows, a bichon cross, four cats and two rabbits, her patience and casual smile are virtues to help her through her busy life at home, and here at the Oshawa Animal Hospital!
Julia Blandisi
Ever since she was born, Julia has never been without pets by her side. She has had the pleasure of working as a zookeeper and hand raising baby cougars, lions, and goats. Julia currently volunteers as a foster parent with a local rescue group and has rehabilitated many wildlife animals along the way. She currently lives with her two dogs Casey and Remy, her cat Sheena, and of course the occasional foster dog. She has brought to the Oshawa Animal Hospital her passion and love for animals and it makes her proud to know that she is making a difference in an animal’s life each and every day.

Cindy Guimond
Bringing with her a wealth of office administration experience, Cindy joined our team in 2001 as receptionist and soon moved into the position of Office Manager. She found us a perfact fit when she could combine her love for animals and her past work experience. She resides in Oshawa with her husband Dennis and daughters, Dallas, Candice and Dakota. Sharing their home with their two lap dogs, Missy and Molly and a bunny huggable Star.

Donna Booth
Donna left the hospital in 1991 to start a family with her husband Derek, producing two wonderful daughters, Jamie and Kelsey. Her love of people and pets returned her to us in 1997 when she decided to re-join the workforce. Donna's calmness and obvious compassion are indispensable at the front desk where, day after day she imparts common sense to clients and a lot of affection to their pets. "Dudley" and "Stanley" are the Booth household's permanent furry fixtures.
Sue Wilson
Sue joined our team in April 1989 with a solid background in animal care as well as experience in a veterinary environment. Horses have always been a great love. Now Sue and her daughter Emily care for their dog "Flower" an 8 year old Terrier mix they adopted as a stray.
Madeleine Stadnik
Madeleine joined our hospital care team in January 2006, bringing with her 3 years reception experience in a veterinary clinic and a love for animals. Eventually she wishes to further herself in the veterinary field as a veterinary nurse. She shares her home with her fiancee Mike and two dogs, Chico, a Chihuahua and Teddy, a Shih Tzu. She also has a pet guinea pig named Olive that she adopted from the Oshawa Animal Hospital.
Barb Stewart
Barb joined Oshawa Animal Hospital in March of 2007. She has always felt a closeness to animals and being able to combine work with that love has proven to be very beneficial for her. She loves hearing the funny stories people have to share about their pets and usually has a few of her own. Barb shares her home with her two teenage sons Jesse and Trevor - animals of a different sort. And her four cats: Gemini, Hurley Oliver and Iris.
Puppy Specialist
Jan Morgan
Jan has been training dogs professionally since 1991. She is a member of The Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers (CAPPDT), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), Association of Pet Dog Trainers U.S. (APDT) and a founding member of the International Positive Dog Trainers Association (IPDTA). Previously, Jan had spent many years working in the canine industry as a veterinary pharmaceutical representative. In 1996, she was able to devote her full time efforts to PAWS-ITIVE PUPPIES. Jan has been featured as a professional trainer and breeder with both CTV News and Local News Stations. She has served on the executive board for CAPPDT and the Cairn Terrier Association of Canada. She has also acted as Durham Regional Superintendent for the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program and worked as assistant to Dr. Pamela Reid and Dr. Jennifer Messer, Nathan Penny, Professional Animal Behaviourists. She has presented many educational seminars to schools, dog clubs, senior groups and retirement residences. Jan has attended continuing education courses on dog behaviour at Guelph University, CAPPDT & IPDTA Conferences, Speaking of Dogs and Professional Animal Behaviour Associates since 1991. Jan has also been active in breeding and showing champion Cairn Terriers since 1991 under the kennel prefix Cabaret Cairns.
